Unlike the street style days of yore (a whole three years ago) the scene on the sidewalk doesn’t so dramatically switch up on a seasonal basis. Yes, there are always new clothes, new catwalk swipes, new combinations… but nowadays the fast-paced entire wardrobe switch-up is redundant. We’re most impressed by the ladies who mix old with new, high with low, and aren’t afraid to wear last season’s clothes. In fact, they look all the more savvy for reinventing trusted favourites rather than relying on box-fresh trends to carry closet kudos.
So in honour of this practice, we’ve sifted through some of the very best street style looks of 2014 to work out which ones have staying power. All of the neutral trends are still very much in line with the runways of S/S’15 and, we’re sure considering fashion’s slightly slower pace.
